I think the author’s message in Gleam and Glow is that you’ve got to make the best of what you’ve got. I think this because in the story, Victor thought about how the fish had survived off of nothing but a few fish pellets, and it made him think that maybe their family could survive of a couple charred pieces of wood and some stale bread. I also think this because I’ve done that too. Part of my second year training in Navy League is that I have to make it through the night in the bush with nothing but a piece of flint. That is what I think the author’s message is.

I think that author’s message in “Gleam and Glow” is that, if we have a strong will and we are smart we can survive. I think that because Gleam and Glow survived the war, because they were smart and ate the food that they could get. Also, with Victor’s family, they survived because they believed in themselves and smartly moved out before it was too late, that was a bit of a fluke, but they managed. Marina also hoped that Gleam and Glow would survive, and as of the second they saw it, Gleam and Glow (miraculously) survived. This proves that if you have a strong will, and are smart, we can survive through most hardships of life.

I think the author’s message in Gleam and Glow is be happy when you’re with family. I think that because Viktor and his family go home and their house is a pile of rubble and yet their still happy because they found their dad. Also, in the beginning of the story Viktor and Marina are miserable because they aren’t with their family.

I think the authors message in Gleam and Glow is that never let anyone tell you where to go and never let people judge you on where to go and when victor said that he was putting the fish in the creek I thought that if they die then marina will be upset again but somehow they lived on and the war never effected them but they were probably scared I do not know because the author does not say.

    Gleam & Glow

I think the author’s message in Gleam & Glow is … there comparing fish and humans together because what I am thinking is that the to fish Gleam & Glow is Glow is the girl witch is the mom. Also Gleam is the dad. What I think is that there trying to prove a point like how there dad left to go undergrounds and work well what if there mom left to go to work then what would you do. You would have to be responsible and take care of everything till they came back.

In the book Gleam & Glow I think the authors’ message is, no matter how bad things look always have a little bit of hope. I think this because in the book nobody but Marina thought that the two fish would live, but against all odds Gleam & Glow survived, and they even had offspring. Another reason I think this because once I was out on the lake in a motor boat and there wasn’t any gas left but worst of all we didn’t have any oars. Eventually we drifted back to land but it took about an hour and a half.

I think the author’s message in Gleam and Glow is family is all you need to be happy. I think this because in the story, a war is about to happen, and the village is terrified. The family moves away to another village across the boarder to safety and they find their papa that worked for the Underground. Their house got destroyed, but they have each other to be happy. Also, at the beginning of the story, the little girl puts two goldfish, Gleam and Glow, in their pond to hopefully survive. The little boy put the rest of the rest of the fish food in the pond for 1 or 2 days of life more. But when the family found out Gleam and Glow survived about 3 months and multiplied, they were really excited about it. Therefore, that’s why I think the author’s message is family is all you need to be happy.

In the text, Gleam and Glow, I think the message is to be hopeful. I believe this because in the text it says ‘the pond was filled with fish’, and if Gleam and Glow believed they weren’t going to survive and weren’t hopeful, do you really think they’d go and have children? Also, in the first few pages, it states that even though the kids were tired and could walk no farther, their mother pushed them on. This shows that she was hopeful and determined to get to the safe place and locate the children’s father.

I think that the author’s message in Gleam and Glow is that nice family’s always stick together because if they don’t things could go wrong like losing you father, like in the book gleam and glow when they couldn’t find their father. I think this because all good family’s stay together. I also think this because in gleam and glow the rest of the family stayed together when they went to the village also when they went back to there old house and because the fish stayed together until the family got back. That is what I think the author’s message is.

    Gleam and Glow

I think the author’s message in ‘Gleam and Glow’ is where ever family is its home. I think this because in the book the mom and the two kids had to move away, out, from all the violence that was happening in there land, and when they crossed the boarder they went to some place where they held shelter and with out there dad it didn’t feel like home because that’s where they were living, but when there dad came back, it did feel like home to them but that wanted to go back to where there house was, and so they did and with out there house, they really didn’t care as long as they were back in their land with their family, and the fishes, and as for the fishes, the two kids loved them. Gleam and Glow had their own family, living in a pond with their own family, and the survived and so as Victor’s (the boy in the fam) family.

    Gleam and Glow

I think that the authors message in Gleam and Glow is that its always good that families stick together because in the text marinas family was sticking together because a big fight was going on so they had to leave town to go across the border but they had to leave marinas fish that are named Gleam and Glow in the pond Intel the big fight was over.
A few months later when the fight was over they came back to there town marinas little sister was the only won who remembered that Gleam and Glow were in that little pond they were so happy because gleam and glow stuck together. Lots of peoples families stick would stick together if there was a big fight like that.

    Gleam and Glow

I think the author’s message is don’t be sad just because of one of your family members is gone away from home. I think this because in the book Gleam and Glow the daughter was too scared to sleep alone so she slept with her mother in her bed. This proves that she did not wanted her father to leave her house now she is crying, sucking her thumb, and scared that her dad is gone from home. So the author’s message is be brave even no your family member is gone just remember that they will come back.

    Gleam and Glow

I think that the author’s message for Gleam and Glow is that there is always hope no matter what. I think this because in the text Maria thought that gleam and glow were sleeping and they were also I think this because I (hoped) wanted to move in with my dad and at first it didn’t happen but eventually it did and that is why I think the authors message is that there is always hope no matter what.

    Gleam And Glow

I think the author’s message is to believe in love and to stick together. I think this because in the text the little girl believed that the fish Gleam and Glow would still be alive after the battle like there dad. Through all that happened the fish were still alive
Like there family were and they stick to gether.

I htink that the authors message is that even though you see something and you think it won’t survive but it will. I know this because in the text when marina asks for the fish and the man that was giving them away only gave her two days of food so he thought that the fish will only live for two days. When the family had to leave they put the gold fish in the pond. And when they come home Marina was the first one to remember the fish. So when she went to the pond she noticed that the fish were alive!!

I think the authors message is in the smallest thing has the biggest life because in the story gleam and glow when a 8 year old see ‘s his farther live to war his sister get’ s this fish from this person and names them gleam and glow but they had to go cross the border line because of the war so she lift the fish gleam and glow behind in there pound and after the war was over they went back there house was not there but there pound was there steel with the fish in there pound and more fish was in the pound too. So that is why I think the smallest thing has the biggest life.

I think the Authors massage in Gleam and Glow is that good things happen to good people and I think that thing that they did that was good was that Marina wanted the fish to live and have a happy life. Marina also wanted the fish to live longer also always try and don’t give up if you think things are going to go bad so never give up and something good will happen. And I also think the author was trying to tell people was that you should always have hope in what your doing and it can turn out to be some thing good 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
