Thanks for a great year!

Posted on

I just wanted to wish everyone a quick congratulations, especially to those of you in grade 6, on completing a successful year. Please have a safe and fun summer. For those of you coming back next year, we’ll see you soon. Those of you going on to Vance or elsewhere, feel free to keep in touch via our blog!

Thank You for being such a great class.

Good Luck,

Moving On

Posted on Updated on

I just got a fax from two former students of mine, Willa and Arly, explaining that they are both going to be doing the Valedictorian speech for their graduating class at Vance Chapman. Not only was I honoured, but very proud to be asked to attend! Like I told them both, even though you move on, you will always be students of mine! However, it got me thinking about my grade 6 students now who will be moving on to Vance or elsewhere next year. I want to know what you think about this transition. Are you scared, excited, sad, happy? Please leave your comments here on how you feel about moving on next year. 🙂

Year round schooling???

Posted on Updated on

There was just an article in the Globe and Mail about the idea of having Ontario schools go year round. Check out the link http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/time-to-lead/does-year-round-schooling-make-the-grade/article2057863/ .   I want to know what you think. Would you prefer year round school if it meant the same amount of holidays but they were broken up throughout the year?
