    St.James Uniforms to come
    By Adam Kraft
The students of St.James School will be wearing school uniforms to take effect on Sept 7, 2013.
The staff believes this will create equality among the students. This is a new rule by the Principal Marla Poulin.

A lot of students seem to disagree with this new rule and want it to be stopped before started. Thomas for example said “if these uniforms happen I will leave the school”. But grade 6 teacher Mr.Purdo said “this school believes that this will create equity among the students creating a better school environment”. Some teachers believe that students will rebel and not wear the uniforms. Yet the staff said “if a student does not wear there uniform to school they will be sent home to change immediately”.

Once a month the school will have “Dress Your Way” days once a month. Many students have different views on this but this student said “I think there for the better”. But most seemed to disagree

St. James School Uniforms Starting Sept 2013
    By: Thomas

The principal of St. James Public School, Mrs. Poulin wants students to wear school uniforms at the start of school Sept 2013 at St. James. She thinks there will be equality while wearing these uniforms since everyone will be wearing the same thing.

The uniforms will be blue and white polo shirts with black pant. Girls may have to wear skirts. There will be no tie for the boys to wear. The uniforms will cost lower than the average clothes a student will buy. They will be sold at many clothing stores (Sears, Wal-Mart, Target ect…). The last Friday of the month is where students will be able to wear their own clothes. There will be no certain shoes or hair dues.

Mrs. Poulin said “This is a great way to show equity since every student will be wearing the same piece of clothing”. Markus said “I think students will not show up to school as often since us students are forced to wear these uniforms”. Yolanda said “ I agree with this uniform system since I believe that we aren’t being equal”. Many students agree and disagree with this statement but most disagree.

    St James, Wears Uniforms
    By Karlee Meekis

Starting on Sept. 7, 2013 the kids of
St James Public School will be wearing uniforms. Mrs. Poulin assigned the uniforms because some kids can’t get nice clothes like others.

“Our School believes that this will create more school spirit” Mr. Purdon says. The school “Spirit” uniforms will be a blue and white polo shirt with the schools animal, the polar bear, with black pants. The uniform will cost less than usual. “We can’t go like this! Children like us need to express our feelings” Katy Says.
If students don’t wear the uniforms, they will be sent home and change.
Once a month students can “show their feelings” in clothes. But they can use their own shoes and hair styles.

Mrs. Poulin says “I’m proud of the students for showing more school spirit of St James Public School”

    School getting uniforms!!!!
    By Donte Harris

Mrs. Poulin today “the school believes that
Decided that St.James this will make students
School is getting feel equal and make
Uniforms starting more school spirit.” Said
    In September 2013 Neal Purdon
    To create equity
    Amongst the students

The kids were shocked to here this.” I can’t stand the Idea of wearing uniforms.” Said Austin .b. There are some good things about this like shoes are open. ”I’ve had it up to here with bullying.” Said Mrs. Poulin. Maybe that’s why she decided to do this. “There wasn’t a lot of bullying in the school.” Said Joe. Kids will be sent home if not wearing uniform. But there are days where they can wear whatever they want.

“This will not stop bullying. It will only make the kids act up more.” Said Joe’s mother. The uniforms will be sold at Wal-Mart, Target, the school and zellers.

“This will make kids feel equal.” Said Mrs. Welborne

A public school none other than St. James principal Marla Poulin has decided that it’s best for the school to have school uniforms. “The school believes uniforms will create equity in this school.” Says grade 6. teacher Mr. Purdon. The school uniforms will begin in the next semester, September 7th, 2013.

The uniforms will be blue and white, with black pants and the St. James logo on it, and skirts if that’s what the girls prefer. If a student refuses to wear a uniform, they will be sent home immediately to change.

If some families can’t afford a school uniform from your local Target, Walmart, or Sears, they will be sent a uniform for their child. “Man, I didn’t see this coming. I thought only Catholic schools had uniforms.” Said a grade 5 student, Toby. “We want students to feel equal. But there will be a Friday at the end of each month that students can wear there own clothe.” Said Mrs. Poulin. “I don’t see the harm in this. It doesn’t make any difference to me.” Said a snobby rich kid named Bobby.

Though some kids disagree with this school uniforms idea, at least the kids will be able to feel equal to others. And this will also help prevent bulling

      Mr. Purdon responded:

    School Uniforms

    By: Alexis Taylor-Scott

Mrs.Poulin, principal of St.James decided that on September 7th everyone in the school must wear a school uniform.
The uniforms are going to have black pants for the girls and boys or if the girls want they may wear skirts. The shirt will be a blue and white polo shirt with the school logo.
Once every month the students will be able to wear there normal clothes.
You can purchase the uniforms at the school, Walmart, Target, and Sears. Mr. Purdon says that “The school believes that this will create equality, creating a better school environment.” Most people think that having uniforms will be weird because everyone will look the same.
Students don’t like the idea of not being able to wear sweaters inside. Other students think that it is fair to be sent home if not in uniform.
Mrs.Poulin thinks this is a great idea, and it will help make everyone feel welcome. She said when asked, “If we didn’t have school uniforms, I think that people wouldn’t feel as welcome with uniforms”.

    School Uniforms

Mrs. Poulin has decided to make kids from St.James school to wear uniforms last week.

Mrs. Poulin said that kids have to wear uniforms because students always come to school with inappropriate clothing. Mrs. Poulin of St.James school said she will not be providing these uniforms.

However she said the students have to buy clothing of the St.James colors. Students will have to wear blue shirts and black pants.

Students say that they want to move from this school because they feel embarrassed of what they have to wear. These students have to wear these uniforms until they move schools.

    Dear Editor,

I think people should know what child labour is and what they do.

Child labour is companies that buy kids to work for them and the
companies torture the kids if they don’t behave. The companies
buy the kids from poor families that don’t even have money to
    feed them self.

Kids that work for companies work in dangerous conditions for
there environment and health. Kids also get brand to know what
company the work for and what company they belong for. Kids
usually work for 12-15 hours, 7 days a week for the companies
they work for. Kids also get sold by there parents for at least
16-20 dollars at the most. It’s horrible what the companies
do to the kids that do child labour.

We can research the companies that do child labour and think
Before we buy the items and but less for the company items
That do child labour because of how horrible they treat the

Thank you for taking your time to read this and if you still
want to find out what child labour is you can research it.
