I think it’s important to have the little boy in the story because if he wasn’t there, the readers that read the book would fall for all the tricks in the story. Like when the Strangers/Explorers came to the island, the little boy wont warn them, he would not be there too. Even though the villagers didn’t listen to the boy, he did get the readers wondering about the boy yelling. If the boy was not there, the whole story would change, and it wouldn’t be that good.

1.The boys point of view is showed.
2.The explorers point of view is not shown because there the bad guys and they don’t need it all we really need to know is they steal.
3.We would see them from the boat to the island and wanting to take their gold.
4.This makes me feel mad at the explorers for taking and just giving beads and hats and they took 5 people which probably didn’t choose to go there.

if it was the boys point of view the story wouldn’t be the story. ‘For I was a child’ thing was to me important to the story.

I think that it is important that we hear the boys point of view because he warned everyone about the sailors and they would have been safe. The islanders went and greeted them and the boy told them not to because of his dream. His dream was about giant birds in the water and in the morning their where canoes. Later the sailors took some of the people because of their gold and the people where turned into slaves. So this is why I think it was VERY important to hear his point of view and if he was listened to none of it would have happened!

Well, I think its important that we heard the boys side, because his land was taken from him, his family was lost because of the people that came one day, and, they took every thing from him. I think the boy was right in saying “not to welcome the strangers” to their land, because of his of his dream that he had of the serpents.

I think it’s important to hear the boys point of view because everybody thinks that the villagers were the bad people but really they weren’t. the villagers had a very happy life on that island they had no problems they had everything they needed and when the explorers came the villagers greeted them then gave them meals and respected them. Then explorers just ruined their lives. That’s why it’s important to hear the good peoples side of the story.

It is important to hear the boys point of view because if he was not then the explores would trick them and and give them other things and they would get all the gold.

I think it’s important that we hear the boys point of view because if we didn’t hear the boys point of view then we wouldn’t hear anybody’s point of view in the story. The boy tells a good story on how the explorers came over from Spain and how they took over their land also he did a good job explaining how he tried to get them to leave. Lastly its good the we hear the boys point of view instead of the explorers point of view because if we heard the explorers point of view instead of the boys the book would probably be longer.

I think that the boys point of view is important because I think we should hear his voice and let him think, and I think we hear the explorer’s voices to much in the book and barely the boys voice I think that if we don’t hear the boys point of view, then I don’t think we will hear the others because the others hear him and they talk back to him, and Lastly I like how they let them leave to another island.

I think it’s important to hear the boys point of view because first of all he Is the main character in the story and he the one talking the most. And he is the smartest because he doesn’t trust strangers and that’s good because you never know what kind of person they are like in the story the other people trusted them and the explorers were in there territory and then they stole 5 of their men plus the kid.
